Boldly Authentic Pennsylvania Whiskey

MONRYE

Old Monongahela
Full Proof Rye

Mash Bill

61% Rye  |  13% Red Winter Wheat  |  13% Rye Malt

13% Malted Barley

About

Monongahela Rye was once America’s prominent spirit. If you’ve been to Liberty Pole, you know we love Rye. We feel we are ready to fully honor the legacy of Monongahela Rye with the release of our “Old Monongahela Full Proof Rye Whiskey”.

In true Monongahela Rye style, this is made with a high rye mash bill, sweet mashed, batch distilled, and aged at a low barrel entry proof of 108.   We bottle it at that full barrel entry proof to preserve maximum flavor.

Tasting Notes

The nose builds aromas of herbs such as rosemary, tarragon and anise along with citrusy lemon.  In the background is brown sugar, and spearmint. The palate is bright and spicy with notes of allspice and apricot. The finish is lingering with hints of freshly baked bread and white pepper.

As the pour sits, hints of melted caramel evolve on the nose and palate.

About

Crafted in the style of traditional Monongahela Rye whiskey or "Old Monongahela" that was once the spirit of choice in the US and abroad.  This whiskey, made from a winter rye grown in Pennsylvania, follows "Old Monongahela's" strong tradition of bold spice, citrus and floral notes.  Also important to us as a traditional Pennsylvania Rye whiskey is this whiskey does not contain even a single kernel of corn - there is no mistaking this product for Bourbon.  It is most definitely a bright and spicy Rye.

About

One of our flagship products, Liberty Pole Bourbon seeks to highlight the unique variety of corn, known as Bloody Butcher, while providing a complex whiskey that will stand with the best.  By using wheat as a flavoring grain, our bourbon remains soft and mellow. Distilled on our traditional pot still, we meticulously monitor our cuts to balance flavor and complexity.

Tasting Notes

The nose starts with hints of warmed almonds, apple pie, and dark chocolate.  On the palate, earthy tobacco and toasted corn jump out followed by lingering clove and cinnamon.

As the pour sits, maple syrup and vanilla notes evolve on the nose and palate.

Peated Bourbon

Mash Bill

59% Bloody Butcher Corn  | 41% Heavily Peated & Non-peated Malted Barley

About

We take the bloody butcher corn that we use in our wheated bourbon and combine it with a heavily peated malted barley from Scotland.  Typically found in Peated Scotch Whiskeys, this heavily peated barley pairs perfectly with the heirloom corn and, when aged in new oak barrels, creates an incredibly unique and delicious flavor combination.

Tasting Notes

The nose starts with notes of smoldering campfire, butterscotch, and gingerbread. Initially on the palate, caramel and sweet corn flavors are immediately accompanied by the campfire warmth.

As the pour sits, sweeter vanilla and brown sugar notes evolve.

Corn

Mash Bill

80% Bloody Butcher Corn  | 20% Six-Row Distillers Malt

About

Our Corn Whiskey puts the unique Bloody Butcher Corn on a pedestal. Double Pot-Distilled on our American-made still, the corn whiskey then rests in barrels that formerly held Liberty Pole Bourbon and Rye Whiskeys.  After maturation, they are blended together to create a delicious spirit.

Being second-use barrels, the oak takes on a pleasant supporting role to the earthy and sweet Bloody Butcher Corn. Yet the maturation allows a subtle vanilla note to peak through.
Smooth and simple, the Corn Whiskey is an excellent addition to anyone's whiskey collection.

Tasting Notes

The nose begins with notes of earthy corn sweetness and hints of almonds and vanilla. The palate is light and sweet with subtle notes of oak and spice.

As the pour sits, the vanilla becomes slightly more pronounced.  An excellent summertime whiskey.  Though we enjoy it in the spring, fall, and winter, too.

Spiced Whiskey

October 2023 Release
About

Our Spiced Whiskey was inspired at Thanksgiving Dinner several years ago when Mom made some Old Fashioneds with her homemade Allspice Dram. Those drinks were a huge hit so we sought out to bottle those flavors and the Spiced Whiskey was born!   As a cool aside and keeping with our roots, it was customary for the Whiskey Rebels in Western Pennsylvania to add spices to their whiskey during this time of year as a special treat.
